If you’re looking to set up HBGShop in Tinfoil it is pretty straightforward. In only a few steps you too can have access to the HBBShop via Tinfoil.
I set this up on my Switch running Atmosphere. If you are using SXOS the steps are probably different, but I can’t confirm that the following steps are the same.
Download Tinfoil
If you need to download Tinfoil you can do so by going to the Tinfoil website:
If you want to go directly to the download page you can use this link:
https://tinfoil.io/Download#download
You’ll want to scroll down and download the .nro file.

Tinfoil Download Links
You can install it via the NSP as well, but I am accustomed to using .nro files so that is what I went with.
Once the download is complete you’ll want to extract the contents.
Copy files to your Switch
Now you’ll want to copy the files to your Nintendo Switch. Take the micro SD Card from your Nintendo Switch and connect it to your computer with the method of your choosing. All you have to do is simply drop the switch folder that was extracted and copy it to your micro SD card. You’ll want to replace any files if prompted.
Once that is complete, safely eject the micro SD card from your PC and insert it back into your Nintendo Switch. Inject the payload and let your Switch boot into Atmosphere.
Launch/Install Tinfoil on your Switch
Access the third party apps via the Photos icon. You should see a new application called Tinfoil Installer. Launch the application and it will install Tinfoil. Go back to your home screen and you’ll see Tinfoil as the most recently installed application. Now you’ll want to do the following:
- Launch Tinfoil
- Navigate into File Browser
- Press the Select button ( – ) to add a New item
Tinfoil File Browser
- Use the following entries (feel free to Title it to something else):
Tinfoil HBGShop Settings
- Save
- Restart Tinfoil
After restarting you should be able to Search by pressing the Start button and results should be returned. If you are not seeing any results you may not be connected to the internet.
That is all there is to it. If you run into any issues please feel free to comment on this post.

I’ve got a handful of games downloaded and I opted for the save file after install. Now how do I pull said games off my SD card to archive them on an external and free the space on my SD card? The game folders with the NSP files don’t show up anywhere in the explorer unless tinfoil is running and I can’t get it to copy the files off the switch. I tried to move the folders to another location on the SD card that did show up when the SD card was inserted into my PC but the files were not there.
