I wrote a post about the differences between the Acer XF240H and the KG240 found here. I ended up keeping the XF240H because I felt that it was the better monitor based on build quality and stand adjustability. The colors on both displays will need to be adjusted as with most monitors out of the box as they are awful. The settings I ended up using should work on both the Acer XF240H and the KG240 as I believe they are both the same panel.
For whatever reason most manufacturer’s monitors out of the box are horribly calibrated including the Acer XF240H and KG240. These are the settings that I found online that I have had the most success with on my Acer XF240H.

Contrast: 45
Black Level: 3
Blue light: OFF
ACM: OFF
Super Sharpness: OFF
Color:
Gamma 2.2
Colour temp: User * R Gain:55 * G Gain:52 * B Gain:50
All bias to 49
SRGB mode: OFF
6-axis hue: Default
6-axis Saturate: Adjust all to 55 except yellow saturate to 59.
Hopefully this will resolve the terrible color settings out of the box and improve your viewing experience.

does this monitor having ghosting and blur? can you see hard to see washed out lines?

I don’t remember seeing ghosting or blur when using freesync. I’ve moved on to a GSync monitor now so memory may be off.

These settings are awful. Do not use them. The “user” or “standard” profile is the most accurate on this display. The blacks are too black, and every color you tweak will get super inaccurate. This person must be blind.

The out of the box settings are definitely washed out and too bright as it has been reported multiple times by consumers and tech reviewers. Most monitors out of the box are incorrectly calibrated. Blacks being too black, wtf? Maybe you’re the one that is blind.

5 is the only black level u should go on that acer^^
There are just enough test’s at youtube to calibrate it and u shouldnt be allowed to change the black level bcs u wont see the SWS colors correctly otherwise. I changed brightness and contrast in my nvidia panel it made the black real black the contrast settings on the monitor are useless^^

I could not remember where I found the monitor config that somebody made. I followed yours. Adjusted the brightness a little higher though, due to being difficult to read for me. (Glasses).

Looks like the author just copied the color profile from a thread on reddit, he forgot to add that one of the requirements for it to work is a custom .icc (colour profile file for windows). Since it’s absent here you are getting problems with darkness. Go to reddit, get the color profile.

I found the NVIDIA Control Panel presented me with options to adjust “Digital Vibrance” and the setting was geared towards monitors with faulty out of the box settings. By keeping all base settings the same 50 Bright 50 Contract 5 BL and not adjusting colors at all go to NCP brightness 35% and digital vibrance to 100% – fixed for me

actually – brightness to 25% and Digital Vibrance to 60% is very close to normal compared to any other monitor
